The sounds of “Silk Resonances”

Organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Macao International Music Festival – now in its 38th edition – returns this autumn, with the theme “Silk Resonances”. This year’s lineup features 10 programmes, ranging from Chinese opera and Western opera to contemporary works and symphonic concerts. A major highlight is “Lang Lang in Recital: Iberian Rhapsody” on October 25, starring the world-renowned Chinese pianist. And, in a surprising operatic twist, international superstar Jackie Chan will make his directorial debut with Giacomo Puccini’s “Turandot – Opera in Three Acts” on October 31 and November 1

Live music meets seaside wellness

The “hush! Beach Concerts x Urban Sports Wellfest” takes over Hac Sa Beach in Coloane for its fourth edition, blending live music, urban sports and wellness. Jointly organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and MGM, the festival features four distinct stages: the core “Hot Wave” beach stage, the relaxing “Music Chill” lawn, the family-focused “hush! Kids”, and “Upbeat Power” for school and youth bands. Workshops and a marketplace round out the programme alongside outdoor fitness activities.

Crafting culture

Since 2008, the Cultural Affairs Bureau has hosted the Tap Siac Craft Market every spring and autumn. As one of Macao’s flagship cultural events, this lively open-air market showcases unique artisanal goods from both local creators and regional craftspeople. Visitors can browse handmade products, enjoy live music from local and overseas indie artists and participate in creative workshops that bring Macao’s contemporary culture to life.

Opening new avenues for trade

Macao’s principal commercial gathering, the Macao International Trade & Investment Fair – also known as MIF – is expanding its horizons this year. Organised by the Commerce and Investment Promotion Institute, the event showcases four core exhibition zones alongside specialised venues, highlighted by the debut of the Spanish-Speaking Countries Industry Pavilion. Running concurrently with the 2026 Portuguese-Speaking Countries Products and Services Exhibition (Macao) and the Macao Franchise Expo 2026, the triple-header assembles international investors, regional suppliers and local enterprises under one roof.

High-octane thrills

The annual Macau Grand Prix is back this November, transforming the city’s winding urban arteries into a high-octane battleground. The four-day spectacle draws world-class competitors across single-seaters, GT cars, touring cars, and motorcycles to tackle the notoriously unforgiving 6.2-kilometre Guia Circuit. A series of community festivities leading up to race weekend will immerse both residents and visitors in the motorsport fever, ensuring the excitement extends far beyond the tarmac.

East meets West eats

Sai Van Lake Square will soon come alive with flavour as the Macau Food Festival unfolds over 17 days this November. Hosted annually by the United Association of Food and Beverage Merchants of Macao, this year’s event features nearly 150 local dining establishments showcasing the unique blend of Chinese and Western influences that defines Macao’s culinary heritage. Alongside the diverse food offerings, live entertainment and games promise a festive, memorable experience for all.
