Twenty years have passed since that historical day on 20 December 1999, when Macao’s administration was handed over to China. There were celebrations then and, two decades on, there will be celebrations again on 20 December 2019. As a tribute, we’ve put together a special section of this November issue to look back at the unprecedented growth in the SAR over 20 years and to look forward to the next two decades and much further beyond.
